Annie Lovina DeShazer, a longtime Cushing/Drumright resident, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 95.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church in Yale, Ok. Chaplin Scott Wintz will officiate. Interment will follow at Brooks Cemetery, Silver City, Ok.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
Annie was born on March 23, 1920 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Oscar and Pearl (Powell) Finney. She grew up in and attended School in Shamrock, Oklahoma, soon after Annie met the love of her life Jess DeShazer and the two were married on March 17, 1938. To this union fourteen children were born Vesta, Raymond, William, Sam, Jean, Bobbie, Jessie, Lloyd, Jerry, Mickey, Leon, Stephen, Dean, and Russell. Annie enjoyed being a mother and making many things, she was an exceptional craftsman in crocheting, knitting, and many other things. Annie loved being outside, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, planting flowers, shopping, and even dancing. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Annie is survived by her nine sons: William DeShazer and wife Sheila, Sam DeShazer and wife Konnie, Lloyd DeShazer and wife Carol, Jerry DeShazer, Mickey DeShazer and wife Joyce, Leon DeShazer, Stephen DeShazer and wife Edna, Dean DeShazer and wife Teresa, Russell DeShazer and wife Cindy, two daughters: Jean Hammock and husband Jerry, and Bobbie Taylor and husband Darrell, 31 grandchildren, 74 great grand children, and 20 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jess, three children: Raymond, Vesta, and Jessie, five brothers: Jack, Raymond, William, Ervin, and Elbridge, and one sister: Jeannie.
