David Allen Vanatta, Sr. of Dewey, OK passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home. He was 57.

Mr. Vanatta was born October 19, 1955 in Wanachi, Washington to Roy Edward and Reta (Youngblood) Vanatta. He had lived in the Miami, Commerce & Welch area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and was a machinist with Steelcraft in Miami, OK and worked for the City of Miami.

He married Julia Patricia Vanatta August 1996 and she preceded him in death January 5, 2013.

Survivor includes: His Parents -Roy & Reta Vanatta of Welch, OK; 5 Sons -Eddie Blunk of Commerce, Ok; David Vanatta, Jr. of LaPlace, LA; Chris Vanatta of Chelsea, OK; Casey Vanatta of LaPlace, LA; Brock Vanatta of LaPlace, LA; 3 Daughters -Trish Trease and husband Kevin of Dewey, OK; Misty Gardner and husband William of Grove, OK; Kira Luttrell and husband Greg of Commerce, OK; 3 Brothers -Roy Gene Vanatta of Welch, OK; Steven Vanatta of Welch, OK; Larry Vanatta of Welch, OK; 3 Sisters -Joie Smith of Chetopa, KS; Sherry Pease of Welch, OK; Sandra Vanatta of Miami, OK; 25 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild.

Funeral Services will be Friday June 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. Rev. Steve Hunter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kelly McClintic, Chris Spriggs, Greg Thomas, Nick Cook, Charles Smith and Cody Thompson. Interment will be in Williams Timberhill Cemetery, west of Miami, OK. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at paulthomasfuneralhomes.com. Services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, OK.
