Tom Edd Hayes
January 16, 1927 ~ April 19, 2018

Tom Edd Hayes passed away April 19, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born January 16, 1927 the son of Bert Oscar Hayes and Vera Alta (Jones) Hayes in White Oak, Oklahoma.

Tom joined the Army Air Corps at seventeen and went on to serve in the US Army during WW II.

He married Earnestine Kincade April 8, 1944.

After honorable discharge from the Army he attended Okmulgee Technical Institute studying mechanics and welding. He was a maintenance mechanic for Nordam and at one time was county commissioner of district 1 Craig County.

Tom was a 32nd Degree Mason and had been a member of the Vinita Masonic Lodge since 1954. He attended White Oak Baptist Church in his youth and later became a member of First Christian Church of Claremore. Tom was known as being an avid Sooner fan and supporter. He was very hard working and enjoyed spending as much time with family as possible.

Tom is survived by daughter Dixie Simmons and husband Jerry of Talala, son Jim Hayes and wife Mickey of Collinsville; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hayes of Claremore; a special nephew, Jerry Mitchell of Tulsa; 16 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; wife, Earnestine (Kincade) Hayes; son, Robert Hayes; daughter, Tommy Buchfink; son-in-law, Marvin Buchfink; grandson, Jimmy Buchfink; and sister, Vivian Toliver.

Visitation will be held in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, Oklahoma, Wednesday April 25, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with great grandson Pastor Josh Buchfink officiating.

Interment will follow at White Oak Cemetery.
