Mary Cordelia (Ironside) Westbrook
February 10, 1947 ~ August 30, 2026

Mary Cordelia Westbrook, 79-year-old Afton (Crace Shores) resident, passed away early Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 10, 1947, in Vinita to Devoy Lee Ironside and Bertha Lorraine (Johnson) Ironside. Mary lived in California, Texas and mostly Oklahoma. She married David Lee Westbrook on September 15, 1964, in California, he preceded her in death in 2023. Mary worked for the Craig General Hospital in Vinita for several years, in the cafeteria and as a dietician. She was also highly active in her church the Craig County Baptist Church of Vinita. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and church friends. Mary liked living near the lake, bird watching, sitting on her front porch taking in the peaceful lake life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her great-grandson, LaDerrian Nelson; brothers, Richard “Dickie” Ironside and Harold “Pistol” Ironside.

The family includes her two sons, Art Westbrook of Cleora, David Westbrook, Jr. and wife Jessica of Vinita; siblings, Donnie Ironside and wife Fran of California, Frances Christian and husband Charkie of Ketchum, Bobbie Six of Ketchum, Lori Holzer of Tulsa, sister in law Doris Eubanks and husband Blaine of Canadian, Texas; grandchildren, Samantha Westbrook, Kallie Johnson (Anthony), Latasha Nelson (Derrick), Jerry Westbrook (Haylee), Isabella and Quinton Westbrook; great-grandchildren, Eli, Kade, Kambri, Bucklee, LaDerrius, Severin, Arrielle, Ava, and Hayden; numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.

The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 20226, at 10:00 a.m. in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, Pastor Bobby Cunningham will officiate. Interment will follow at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. “Vinita’s only locally family owned and operated funeral home.”
