Ona Faye (Moss) Morgan, 78-year-old longtime Vinita resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Grand Villa Care Facility in Grove. She was born on July 18, 1947, in Bluejacket to Frank James Moss and Ona Belle (McCaslin) Moss. Ona was a graduate of Bluejacket High School and attended business and beauty school after high school. Ona was a minister for many years, serving God was her greatest joy. She enjoyed gospel music, being with her church friends and loving her family. Ona worked as a dispatcher for the Vinita Police Department as well.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sons, Robbie and Brad Parrish, ½ brothers and sisters, Nancy Mason, Betty Mason, Richard Moss, Floyd Moss, and Willena Chapman.

The family includes her children, Sonya Tucker of Tiff City, Mo, Steven Parrish, David Parrish, and Josh Parrish all of Vinita; her siblings, Joe Moss (Chryl) of Vinita, Donna Derosia (Will) Vinita, Mary Gower (Terry) of Miami, Becky Hart of Vinita, Gracie Colvin (Roger) of Vinita, Jeannie Snowden of Vinita, Doretha Paxson of Welch; fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.

The celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery west of Four Corners. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in care of Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. “Vinita’s only locally family owned and operated funeral home.”
