Brenda Kay (Johnson) Gibson
January 25, 1964 ~ June 8, 2021

Brenda Kay (Johnson) Gibson, 57, passed away in Austin, Texas Tuesday morning on June 8th at St. David's Medical Center- South Austin. She was born January 25th, 1964, in Nowata County.

She was born to Herbert Lee Johnson and Bonnie Lee Mayhew, she was raised by Bonnie Lee Hubbard and Waymond Doyle Hubbard (Stepfather). She attended school in Nowata from Kindergarten to 12th grade and 2 years Tri County Tech in Bartlesville. September 26, 1987, she married the love of her life Garry Gibson of Nowata in Austin, Texas. Which they had four beautiful children; Amber Gibson, Ashlynn Gibson, Kameron Gibson, and Aisha Gibson all which are from Austin, Texas.

She worked for the Austin State School as a Direct Support Professional for 27 years. She loved to knit and sew and enjoyed doing 'Do it Yourself' projects and loved to eat barbeque. She was very devoted to her family and children and grandchild. She was highly loved by her co-workers and residents, she always carried a pleasant and happy personality and always made people laugh and was laughing herself and had a beautiful smile that lit up the room. She took great pride in her appearance and fashion and was always neat and organized. She had five sisters and two brothers: Rhonda Davis of Vinita, Ok, Yolonda Pouncil of Florida, Sheila Johnson of Dallas, TX, Carala Steeples of Nowata, Ok, Kimberly Hubbard of Tulsa, Ok, Antwan Anderson of Tulsa, Ok. Wade Hubbard of Tulsa, Ok.

She is proceeded in death by her biological father, Herbert Lee Johnson.

Keeping Brenda's memories alive through her husband Garry Gibson of Nowata, Amber Gibson of Austin, TX, Ashlynn Gibson of Nowata, Kameron Gibson of Oklahoma City, Aisha Gibson of Nowata and one grandchild, Messiah Townsend of Austin, TX. Also, family, friends, nieces, nephews and a host of co-workers.

There will be a family and friend visitation Friday, June 18, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the New Life Assembly of God Nowata, OK, with Pastor Ralph Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at the Ross Manley Cemetery, Craig County Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services in Nowata, Oklahoma.
