Edna Nadine (Rowe) Brookfield
September 26, 1951 ~ October 24, 2024

Edna Nadine (Rowe) Brookfield, 73-year-old Vinita resident, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Vinita. She was born on September 26, 1951, in Vinita to Ernest “Threed” Rowe and Jimmelena Marie (Baldrige) Rowe. Edna was a 1969 graduate of Ketchum High School, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ketchum. She continued her education at NSU Tahlequah, Central State in Edmond, and the University of Tulsa, finishing with her bachelor’s degree. Edna worked for the Oklahoma Department of Health and Human Services as a child welfare advocate for many years, before retiring, she continued to assist others in many different capacities. Edna enjoyed crafting and doing bead work as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest “Threed” and Marie Rowe, the father of her son, Jimmy Brookfield, long time companion, Percy Hoard, a half-brother, James Rowe, and a sister, Roselle Rowe.

The family includes her son Christopher Brookfield of Vinita, stepson, Vincent Brookfield of Tulsa, sisters, Linda Irene Edwards of Crowley, Texas, Lydia Joyce Spearman of Woodstock, Georgia, Marcia Rowe of Scottsdale, Arizona, grandchildren, Terrell Bluejacket, Sisnie Marie Brookfield, Khia Dawn Brookfield, and great granddaughter, Ayana Bluejacket.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ketchum Cemtery, Rev. Farris Downing will officiate. Arrangements are in care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita.
