Carolyn Louise “Micki” (Humphries) Speer
August 24, 1943 ~ January 29, 2026

Carolyn Louise “Micki” Speer, 82-year-old well known Vinita resident, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 24, 1943, in Wynne, Arkansas to Lum and Maureen (Irwin) Humphries. Micki graduated from Earle High School in 1960. Micki was a very successful manager at Westco Home Furnishings in Vinita for over 20 years. Micki married Phil Speer on March 14, 1972, in Bentonville, Arkansas. She enjoyed working at Westco and interacting with people that came into the store, making relationships in the community. Micki also liked to travel, especially sight seeing in Colorado, going to ball games to watch her children and grandchildren play. Spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do, along with her trips to the beauty shop. Micki loved her dog “Jazzy” was very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gene, and Jim Ed Humphries.

The family includes her husband Phil of the home; children, Danna Straw and husband Danny of Vinita, Paul Speer and wife Courtney of Vinita, Dixie Speer of Claremore; grandchildren, Kori Jameson and husband Logan, Becca Jackson, Wyatt Speer and wife McKinze, Gracie Chamberlain, Emma Speer, Josie Speer, Maise Stagner-Speer; special nephews Keith Humphries and Patrick Speer; great-grandchildren, Charleston, Luna and Neelie; numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.

The celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Bobby Whitchurch officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. “Vinita’s only locally family owned and operated funeral home.”
