Tahlequah, OK ~ Funeral Services for Aretha Ellen Jinks will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 24, 2013 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Parker officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 23, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. Visitation will be held Thursday April 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday April 26, 2013 with Bro. Bobby Whitchurch officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, OK.
Aretha Ellen Jinks the daughter of Raetta Jinks and Garoyl Humphrey was born August 25, 1980 in Claremore, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with her Lord on April 19, 2013 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 32 years, 7 months and 24 days.
Aretha enjoyed life and loved serving the Lord. She was a member of the South College Church of Christ in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She graduated High School from Vinita High School and her junior year had placed 2nd in a State Testing Competition for the Future Business Leaders of America and won a trip to Disney World. She enjoyed going to church, singing, reading and spending time with her friends and family. She was very dedicated and loved her job, and was a very dependable and well liked employee and co-worker. Aretha thought of her mom as her best friend and loved her very much. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and her uncle Tony Humphrey.
Aretha is survived by a loving family which includes her mother and best friend Raetta Jinks of the home; her father Garoyl Humphrey and wife Lisa of Vinita; a half-sister Shannon; step-brothers Aaron and Michel; her maternal grandparents Eugene and Lois Jinks of Vinita; uncles Gene Jinks and wife Wanda of Vinita, Monty Jinks and wife Cleta of Hermitage, TN, Larry Jinks of Broken Arrow and Calvin Humphrey of Vinita; and her aunts Vicki and LaNell both of Claremore. Many cousins, nieces, friends and other loved ones also survive her.
