Acute Indigestion Fatal to W. L.
Chambers at Home North-
east of Walters

   W. L. Chambers, 72, pioneer resident of the Lone Star community, northeast of Walters, passed away at his home in that community Wednesday morning following an attack of acute indigestion. "Uncle Walt," as he was familiarly known by his many friends, was stricken suddenly Sunday and all efforts to save the life of this pioneer county man proved unavailing. His death comes as a personal loss to all who knew him and brought widespread grief to his many friends and relatives.
   Funeral services for the deceased were conducted at the First Baptist church in Walters, Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by Rev. T. P. Haskins, pastor of the Baptist church at Duncan, assisted by Rev. George C. Hutto, pastor of the local church. Funeral arrangements were handled by Harley-Pearson Funeral Home and interment was made in the family burial lot, one mile west of Burnaugh Store.
   Walter Lee Chambers was born December 4, 1860 and departed this life April 5, 1933, being 72 years, four months and one day old. He lived with his parents in Alabama until 1876 when the family moved to Denton county, Texas. He professed religion and joined the Methodist church when he was about 18 years old. After moving to Oklahoma he joined the Missionary Baptist church in which he has lived a most conservative Christian life. To know him was to love him. He was married to Miss Ida V. Moore on November 9, 1884. To this union were born six children, Andrew Chambers, Walters, Henry Chambers, Wewoka, Viola Smith, Walters, Chester Chambers, Oklahoma City, Villa Wilcox, Oklahoma City, Howard Chambers, Wewoka, Okla. Also 15 grandchildren survive.
   He was preceeded in death by his wife on September 16, 1914. On February 21, 1917, he was married to Mrs. Jennie Fontaine, who survives.
   Those attending the funeral from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Chambers, Sweetwater, Texas; Clarence Breeding, Sweetwater; Mrs. Sarah Gibbs, Big Springs, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Joel Chambers, Rome, Texas; Mrs. Lundy Chambers and family, Mrs. Joe Curtis, all of Argyle, Texas; Mr. A. Chambers, Denton, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Patterson, Post Oak, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fontain, Ranger, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. McColgin, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. B. B. McDaniel, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Moore, Lamesa, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Colson, Skellytown, Texas; Mrs. A. T. Akers, Duncan; Mr. and Mrs. Plummer, Mrs. Hayworth and Mr. and Mrs. Nick Young of Lawton; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burnaugh, Rush Springs.
