Winham, 89, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at First Baptist Church, 501 SW B, Lawton, officiated by Associate Pastor Tony Christie. Olan died Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Olan was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Achille, to Lilburn Irwin Winham and Lula Louiza Moffitt. He married Helen Earlene Caldwell Dec. 5, 1961, in Henrietta, Texas. He entered the military March 5, 1945, and served until Nov. 20, 1946. He became a Lawton firefighter in 1949 and retired as a lieutenant in 1967. He then owned Winham's Construction and co-owned two Lawton motels. He was also president of the Oklahoma Motel Association and a member of the Lawton Firefighters Association. He was also a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Lawton. Survivors include, his wife, of the home; children: Steve Winham, Lawton, Dale Winham and wife Vicky, Lawton, Jim Winham and wife Lara, Edmond; Mike Winham and wife Clea, Lawton; grandchildren: Gary Winham, Denton, Texas, Brad Winham and Kately, Norman, Andrew Winham and wife Deena, Tulsa, James Olan, Broken Arrow, rowan Winham and Allie Winham, Lawton, Jake Smith, Tulsa, and Colton Braum, Edmond; great-grandchild, Kael Winham, Norman; brothers and sisters: Opal Glasgow, Roswell, N.M., Areta Mills of Florida, Dixie and Larry Bryan of Texas, Alvin Winham and wife Mary, Lawton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Alan and Alton Winham. |
