She was a resident of Lawton. Born September 27, 1952 in Nocona, Texas she was the daughter of Julius and JoNell Leaf. Mrs. Whitis graduated from Nocona High School. She has lived in Texas, Georgia, Alaska and Oklahoma. Mrs. Whitis graduated from Cameron University in 2003 and worked as the Social Service Director for McMahon-Tomlinson Nursing Center in Lawton before needing to retire due to her disability. She is survived by her husband Charles Whitis of Lawton; her mother JoNell Cunningham of Nocona, Tx.; her sisters Sue Guinn and Julie Tadlock of Nocona, Tx.; her brother Mike Leaf of Temple, Ok; her daughter Kathy Goin of Cache; her deceased daughters husband Alvin Busch of Lawton; her step daughter Rebecca Ingram of Blanchard, Ok; her step son Tim Whitis of Lawton; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitis was preceded in death by her daughter Kim Goin-Busch; her father Julius "Slim" Leaf and by her step father Richard Cunningham. Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. Concluding service and inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton. |
