Junior Wesley "Hook" McPherson

Funeral for Junior Wesley "Hook" McPherson, 74, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Fellowship with John Wallace, pastor, officiating.

Mr. McPherson died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at his home.

Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.

He was born July 21, 1935, in Anadarko to Donald and Vivian Stidham McPherson. He was raised and attended school in Anadarko. He attended Bacone College in Muskogee following graduation from high school, and worked at a lumber yard and a peanut processing plant for a short period of time. He was employed as a route salesman for Wonderbread for more than 25 years prior to retirement. He was involved in the community as a member of the Optimists Club, Salvation Army, Little League Football, Boy Scouts, and in the development of the D.A.R.E. program. He was also a woodworker.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; a daughter, Tina McPherson, Marlow; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Jeff McPherson, Oklahoma City; Mark McPherson, Batavia, N.Y.; and Steve and Amy McPherson, Centerton, Ark.; a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Pat McPherson, Cache; two sisters: Sevilla Elliot, Lewisville, Texas; and Betty Henderson, McKinney, Texas; grandchildren: Chad Pennell, Tulsa; Danielle McPherson and daughter Kyara Robins, both of Oklahoma City; Kloie McPherson and Sebastian McPherson, both of Centerton, Ark.; and JC, and Hayley Sikes, both of Marlow; an aunt, Aggie Joan Jones, Anadarko; his mother-in-law, Vera Partl, St. Louis; friends and brothers-in-law: Michael Partl, St. Louis; and Matthew Partl, Fort Cobb; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
