© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma November 14, 2016 James Edgar "Jim" Marshall James "Big Jim" Edgar Marshall of Lawton, OK, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 14th, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born October 29, 1937 in Palmer, Texas. A visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2pm-5pm at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 12:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens, under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. James proudly served in the US Army as a supplies sergeant before retiring at Ft Sill, OK. During his time with the army, he earned many awards for his service during Vietnam to include: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Four Overseas Service Bars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Army Accommodation Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal First through Sixth Award, Vietnam Counteroffensive Purple Heart III, Vietnam TET Counteroffensive, Sanctuary Counteroffensive, and Vietnam Counter Offensive Purple Heart VII. His post-Army career included dock supervisor for Dillard's in Lawton, OK. James will be remembered for his love of University of Texas Football, Dallas Cowboys Football, and Texas Rangers Baseball. He also loved movies, primarily old westerns, so much that he most likely has watched every single western movie available at least once. James is survived by his three children: daughter Charlotte and her husband Ted Kilvington of Mason, MI, son James M and his wife Rebecca Marshall of Midwest City, OK, son Matthew and his wife Jayme Ernest- Marshall, of Lawton, OK. He is also survived by grandchildren Michael, wife Heather, and Ariel, of Mason, MI, Alexzander, Jaxzen, and Kynadi of Lawton, OK. James is also survived by sister in law Patricia Payne of Ft Smith, AR and his beloved dogs, Bear, Peaches, and Honey. James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Valoyce, parents William and Fannie Marshall, siblings Mildred Patton and Thomas Marshall, his aunt who raised him, Frances "Birdie" Marshall Jackson, and great grandson, Layne |
© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma Sunday, January 11, 2004 Valoyce Jeanne [Pearce] Marshall Valoyce Jeanne Marshall, 62, of Lawton, Oklahoma died Sunday, January 11, 2004, in Lawton after a long brave struggle against pancreatic cancer. She was born January 8, 1942, in Rogers, Arkansas. Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Meorial Gardens under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home of Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a registered nurse and worked at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved needlepoint, gardening, and restoring old dolls. She loved to spend time with her two grandchildren. She is survived by her husband James Edgar Marshall of Lawton, a daughter Charlotte Ann Kilvington of Mason Michigan, two sons James Madden Marshall of Del City Oklahoma and Matthew Wilson Marshall of Lawton Oklahoma, a sister Patricia Ann Payne of Fort Smith Arkansas, and two grandchildren Michael James Wellman and Ariel Raquel Wellman both of Mason Michigan. Memoiral contributions may be made to the Nursing Scholarship Fund at Cameron Univeristy or the Valoyce Marshall Scholarship Fund at Well-Dunn 4-H Horseclub in Mason, Michigan where her grandchildren were avid equestrians. |
