© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma September 6, 2014 Dorothy Bernice [McCathern] Isom Dates: Birth date: September 2, 1927 Death date: September 6, 2014 Dorothy Bernice Isom was born September 2, 1927 in Binger, Oklahoma to Ruth and John F. McCathern. She passed away September 6, 2014 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 87. Dorothy graduated from Binger High School and was married to Pat Harlan Isom on May 21, 1948 in Rush Springs. Dorothy worked at the telephone company before going back to school to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Education from Cameron University and later received her Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma. She taught her entire career at Will Rogers Elementary in Lawton. She was a member of the University Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Isom; one sister and one brother. Survivors include her son, David Isom and wife, Pam; two sisters, Karen Scott and Thelma Blackburn; 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Nichole, and Brandon; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
