© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma May 28, 2015 Alice Sue [Melrose] Flowers Alice Sue Flowers, Lawton, was born April 14, 1959 in Lawton to Clyets and Colleen [Poindexter] Melrose. She died on May 28, 2015 at the age of 56. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2-4pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 1:00pm in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Alice grew up in Lawton. She owned and worked as an upholsterer for Melrose Upholstery, a job she loved. She married Phillip Flowers, Sr in 1976 and together they had 2 children; Amber and Philip Jr. Alice was a selfless and loving person who thought of everyone before herself. She loved everyone, especially her family and friends, and everyone loved her in return. She loved gardening, but fishing was her favorite past time. Alice loved her family above all else. Her memories will be cherished by those who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Philip Flowers Sr; her son, Phillip Flowers, Jr; her sister, Carla Jane Melrose; and her long-time companion, Craig May. Survivors include her daughter, Amber Deitz and husband Charles of Florida; her grandchildren, Alaura and Charles Deitz III; brother, Bruce Melrose and wife Jill of Lawton; sister, Peggy Lewis and husband Larry of Lawton; brother, David Melrose of Oklahoma City; sister, Rhea Smith and husband Terry of Ardmore; sister, Dorothy Melrose of Lawton; brother, Edward Melrose of Lawton; sister, Mary Kay Melrose of Lawton; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
