© Lawton Constitution Lawton, Oklahoma May 7, 2002 Erma Louise [Dean] Elkins Funeral for Erma L. Elkins, 75, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lawton Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev. Montie Jones, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Elkins died Sunday, May 5, 2002, at a Lawton hospital. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born March 31, 1927, in Lawton to Felix J. and Jewell Emalee Dean. She grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1946. She married John C. Elkins on Sept. 1, 1946, in Lawton. She worked several years for southwestern Bell Telephone, but was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of Lawton Heights United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Crusader Sunday school class and served as Sunday school superintendent. She also served as a volunteer cook for the Northwest Kiwanis Club. Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, John K. and Cindy Elkins, Lawton; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan D. and Mike Crumbley, Lawton; four brothers: Paul and Billy Dean, both of Lawton; Kenneth Dean, Odessa, Texas; and James Dean, Oklahoma City; a sister, Flo Lightsey, Jonesboro, Texas; and four grandchildren: John W. Elkins, Leah Crumbley, Keith Elkins and Lance Crumbley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liver Transplant Institute at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
