Lester Claude Davis

Lester Claude Davis was born January 9, 1923 in Faxon, Oklahoma to Claude B. and Mary Moon Davis. He died on July 22, 2007 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 13 days. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with Brant Stubblefield, Gospel Preacher from Lindsey Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24, from 1-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9-11 AM.

Mr. Davis grew up and attended school in Elgin. He joined the CCC and worked in several camps prior to joining the US Army during WW II. Mr. Davis was a quiet individual who enjoyed reading and spending time with his sister Polly. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Davis is survived by his brother, Robert Davis and wife Virginia of Lawton; sisters, Ella Pauline "Polly" Meador of Lawton, Dorothy Dowling and husband Forest of Lincoln, NE, and Lavelle Bean and husband Les of Athens, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
