Violet P. Burke, our precious mother passed away June 29th at the age of 83 years, after many years of suffering with heart disease.

She has gone to join the Lord as well as our beloved Dad, Wesley V. Burke, who preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, three brothers, two sisters, and a great- granddaughter.

She is survived by a brother, Buddy Huggins; a sister, Mildred Mitchell; a son, Jim R. Burke and wife, Carole of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Sandra Thomason and husband, David of Oklahoma City, Judy Short, Oklahoma City; seven loving grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was so loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and lots and lots of friends.

Services will be Tuesday, July 1, 10:00am at Meridian Avenue Baptist Church, 1421 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and burial will be 3:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, Oklahoma.
