She died on April 8, 2013 in Lawton at the home she has shared with her grandmother for the past 38 years. A home going celebration is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at True Love Apostolic Church, 420 SW "G" Avenue in Lawton with Dr. Joe R. Williams Sr, officiating. A wake service will be held on Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements. Dottie was raised and attended school in Lawton. She graduated from McArthur High School and was employed at Goodwill Industries where she worked as a checker. Dottie was a devoted Christian and an active member of Christ Temple and later True Love Church where she served as the 2nd vice President of the True Love Youth Department, missionary, usher and loved to praise the Lord in dance. She enjoyed cooking cakes for her family and friends (her favorites were a "Sock it to me" cake and sweet potato pies), watching old movies and working word search puzzles. Dottie was preceded in death by her mother Rose Iona Jones and a sister, Shindada Reed. As we go through the course of our lives, we Endeavour to leave a mark, we want to make that Dash of our lives have meaning, and we want to make a difference. The Dash in Kidada's life will leave a legacy to be remembered and affected by generations to come. Kidada was a true friend, she was a friend to many, she left an indelible make on all who came around her, and she loved her church family. In her later years, through her illness, she was at her post ushering, praise dancing and giving Godly advice to all she could. She was a true woman of conviction, purpose and extremely focused the things of the Kingdom of God. Often times we speak words of comfort of our deceased loved ones and friends which are simply not an accurate reflection of that individual. That was not the case with Dottie. She always placed the needs and welfare of others before herself. I think of the instructions Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave Peter. Three times Jesus asked Peter, "Do you love Me?" Peter answered, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." Our Lord told Peter if you love me, "Feed My sheep." She feed the sheep of the lord until the day he called her home. Survivors include her grandmother and best friend, Frances Thomas; her dad whom she loved dearly (SFC) Retired Lewis Jones; her fiance, the love of her life, Elder Gregory Mucker; 5 uncles, Thomas Taylor of Bremerton, WA, Carlos Taylor, Sr. and wife Sherelene of Prince George, VA, James Taylor, Sr. and wife Bernita of Lawton, Ivan Thomas Sr. of Lawton, and Ezra Thomas of Federal Way, WA.; cousins, Myra Thompson and husband Robert of Hopewell, VA, Ashley Taylor, Brittany Taylor and James Taylor, Jr, all of Virginia Beach, VA, Carlos Taylor, Jr at Ft Hood, TX, Hannah Taylor of Prince George, VA, and Ivan Thomas, Jr and her dear cousin and close friends who cared for her until the last moments Isaiah Butcher and Yolanda Johnson, both of Lawton; great aunts, Rosie Butcher of Lawton and Doris Weaver of Los Angeles, CA.; and her Father and Mother in the Lord Dr and First Lady Joe and Treddie Williams, and many other relativities.
