Rev. Fred L. Andrews

Funeral services for the Rev. Fred L. Andrews, 81, Lawton, Oklahoma were held at the Lighthouse Church of God with the Rev. Dillon Marsh, retired minister, Mt. Zion, OK and the Rev. Delbert Hughes, pastor of Lighthouse Church of God, officiated. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

The Rev. Andrews died Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born February 24, 1928, in Strong City, OK to Merrel and Edith Archer Andrews.

He grew up in Roger Mills County and attended school there.

He moved to Clinton in 1940's, and married Wanda Bennett on July 20, 1947, in Clinton.

He later drove a bread truck and Pepsi Cola truck in Clinton, and then he and his wife moved to California in the early 1950s. They returned to Oklahoma and lived in Cheyenne, where he worked as a plumber. They then began working in the ministry and pastured the Pentecostal Holiness Church. In 1960, they moved to Woodward and he was a pastor there before moving to Lawton in the 1980s. He also owned and operated Andrews' Roofing and Remodeling for several years.

His wife preceded him in death on September 9, 1990.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Marilyn Andrews, Dallas, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Wayne Payne, Hermitage, TN and Kaye and Jim Biby, Jacksonville, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Della Andrews; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Ed Jantzen, Lawton, OK and Dammie and Emmett Morris, Cheyenne, OK; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a great great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a granddaughter, Jean Davidson; three brothers, Emery Andrews, J.E. Andrews and E.L. Andrews and three sisters, May Parks, Jo Derryberry and Kiz Jeffcoat.
