BILLY BARNETT, 81, of Oklahoma City, will be Friday, April 8, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Eugene Howeth, retired, of Rush Springs, officiating. Mr. Barnett died Wednesday, April 5, 2005 in an Oklahoma City hospital. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, OK under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born September 20, 1923 in Sterling to William A. Barnett and Hattie [Kirby] Barnett and was raised in that area. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, Oct. 26, 1943-March 29, 1946. He married Lenora [Wright] in September of 1947. They had made their home in the Duncan and Sterling area until moving to Oklahoma City in 1957 where they had lived since. Mr. Barnett was a machinist for "L.S. Bearing" of Oklahoma City for 27 years, retiring June 9, 1989. He enjoyed fishing and playing of dominoes. Survivors include; a son, Roger Barnett and his wife, Rhonda, of Edmond, 2 sisters; Mary Mantooth and her husband, Ray, of Sterling and Lorena Jefferys of Sterling, a brother; Charles Barnett of Portland, Oregon, 4 grandchildren; Billy Dale Barnett, Mark Allen Barnett, Amber Diane Barnett and Roxy Raquel Barnett, 2 great grandchildren; Page Lynn Barnett and Rrhaylee Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister; Irene Odneal, 2 brothers; Robert Barnett and Walter Barnett. Hodge Funeral Home 410 W.
