Peggy "Una Madora" Elledge
Funeral service for Peggy "Una Madora" Elledge, 88, of Lawton, will be at 2 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2007, at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. William F. Todd, senior pastor, Centenary United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elledge died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in Lawton, on the anniversary of the day she married her beloved Maurice Elledge, 71 years ago in 1936.
Peggy was born on October 13, 1918, in Chickasha, OK, to Moman Henry and Zelma Mae Burton Shepard. She met the love of her life, Maurice Elledge, at the "Sugar Bowl" in Chickasha in 1935 and they were married in 1936. She supported Maurice in his work, particularly when he owned The Lawton Monument Company since 1953. The Lawton Monument Company is now run by their son, Chris and their grandson, Bill.
She is survived by those family and friends who love her: her husband, Maurice; her three children, Peggy Elledge Long of Lawton; Chris Elledge and his wife, Debbie, of Lawton and Patti Elledge of Ashville, NC; her grandchildren, Lori Long Garcia of Phoenix, AZ; Bill Elledge of Lawton, OK; Sami Elledge Atchley and her husband, David, of Lawton; her great grandchildren: Casey, Jonah and Indigo Garcia, Phoenix, AZ and Toni Atchley of Lawton and friends Dean Paramore, Jean Riddle, Dr. Byron Aycock all of Lawton; Kay and Rich Steed and Peggy Link, Hot Springs, AR and Vann Greer and Jim Andrews of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Shepard.
