Spruill Jr, 73 of the 7900 block of Terrace Hills, died January 31, 2015 at his residence. David was born to the late David Spruill and Elnora Hodges. He was a native of Portsmouth and a United States Army Veteran with 25 years of honorable service which included a tour in Vietnam. He was a faithful member and valued friend of Frontier Chapel for nineteen years. He was a member of Conquerors of Christ, an usher, and affiliated with the Buffalo Soldiers. David always had an amazing sense of humor. He gave freely of his time, his kindness, his money, and above all his love. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Christel Spruill; his beloved children; Steven Spruill, Regina Goodwin, Renee Wicks, Claudia Spriggs and Sharon Spruill-Ware; a brood of dear grandchildren; a brother, Louis Spruill; sisters Mary J. Porter, Deloris George, Louise Bowser, and Dorothy Spruill; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
