Robert Begley Napier

SFC Robert B. Napier, USA ret was born on August 18, 1923 in Mosley Bend, KY. He died on November 2, 2014 in Harrison, AR at the age of 91.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Ft Sill Post Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
SFC Napier was raised and graduated from high school in Arizona.
He entered the Civilian Conservation Corps and eventually transferred to the US Army in 1942 when the CCC was terminated due to the need for soldiers. SFC Napier spent over 20 years serving his country in Europe and Korea, including being present in Germany when the US troops met the Russian troops in Berlin. In all, he spent 17 of his 20 years of active duty in Europe.
After his retirement from the military, he worked on Post for several years and then left that position to start his own lawn service. Bob continued in that trade until his retirement in 2010 when he was still maintaining 17 yards a week. Those who knew Bob best say his favorite hobby was work.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vesta Langdon; step- father, William D. Napier; wife, Eva Plunkett Napier; sister, Joyce Napier; and brothers, Billie, Jasper and Samuel Napier.
Survivors include two brothers, Earl Napier of Cave City, AR and Ashford Napier of Calico Rock, AR; four sisters, Ruby Hicks of Harrison, AR, Elizabeth "Betty" Napier of Sidney, AR, Glenda Brumfield of Lexington, KY, and Cloe Monk of Crossville, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
