Melita Marino, 86, Lawton, was born August 17, 1927 in Friedberg, Germany to Wilhelm and Meta [Muller] Ambrosius. She died at her home on June 29, 2014.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Fort Sill Post Cemetery under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Melita grew up and attended school in Germany. After high school, she attended cooking school in Germany and later became a nanny in England.
She married Alfred Marino in 1956; he preceded her in death in February 1985, after 29 years of marriage.
Melita and Alfred moved to Lawton where she became a cook at Crosby Park Elementary. She loved the children that she served at the school. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her grandchildren dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Meta Ambrosius; husband, Alfred Marino; and brothers Gerhard, Erich, Richard; and a sister Ria.
Survivors include her daughter, Angelika Stein and husband Carl of Texarkana, TX; granddaughter, Meta Savage and husband Jeff of Texarkana, TX; great-granddaughters, Alexis and Amber Savage of Texarkana, TX; and sister, Hilde Dom Paul of England.
