© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma August 30, 2015 Dennis Mansell Blanton Jr Birth date: January 16, 1919 Death date: August 30, 2015 Dennis Mansell Blanton, Jr, Lawton, was born January 16, 1919 in Claude, Texas to Mansell and Wheeler "Mollie" [Merchant] Blanton. He passed away peacefully on August 30, 2015 at the age of 96. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 9am to 9pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 12:30pm in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fort Sill Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. Dennis grew up in Texas. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 27 years before his retirement. He is preceded in death by his wife Alma Irene Blanton and his son, Dennis Blanton III. Survivors include his son, Richard F. Blanton, of the home; daughter, Betty K Dixon of Virginia; 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and his special companion, Dagi Walker and her daughters, Cheryl and Jessica. |
