Blanchard, Oklahoma September 26, 2014 Willie Lee Turner Dates: Birth date: December 11, 1931 Death date: September 26, 2014 Willie Lee Turner, 82, longtime resident of Bridge Creek, died, Friday, September 26, 2014, in Hominy, Oklahoma. The son of Joseph Powell Turner and Adley [Bell] Turner, he was born December 11, 1931 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Willie served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years as a truck driver. He was a Christian in faith and was an active member of Crossroads Cathedral in Oklahoma City for many years. Through his involvement with his church, Willie was able to travel to Haiti to aid children in need. Throughout the course of his life, Willie adopted and raised fifteen children. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Graveside service and burial with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.
