Apache, Caddo CO, Oklahoma Monday, March 24, 2014 Letcher Ray Powell Letcher Ray Powell of Apache, Oklahoma was born February 15, 1948 in Equality, IL to Nilace Francis James Oyd and Earietta [Goodson] Powell. He passed away March 18th in Apache, OK at the age of 66. Letcher graduated from high school and entered the Army. He proudly served in Special Forces as a Green Beret during the Viet Nam War. He retired from military service as a Staff Sergeant. He married Linda Septer in Rock Island County, IL in the late 1960's. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching classic Western and Military movies, and his favorite actor was John Wayne. Letcher loved to tell stories and was an old car buff. He had recently moved to Apache from East Moline, IL. He is survived by: His wife, Linda Powell, of Boise, ID, 3 sons-Marcus and wife, Laura Powell Apache, OK, Nakoma Powell and girlfriend Jessica Boise, ID, Ryan and wife, Jackie Powell Boise, ID, 4 daughters and their husbands-Dawn and Bill Leffler, Fayetteville, NC, Heather and Chris Byers, Buford, GA, Shawnee and David Wiseman, Burley, ID, Jaymie and Mark Remm, Boise, ID, 28 grandchildren-Marcus Powell, II; Ruth Anna Powell, Ivan Powell, Brandt Cooper, DeAnn Clark, Charmaine Clark, Cory Leffler, Shelleigh Leffler, Devon Leffler, Alex Byers, Addyson Simmons, Dakota Simmons, Hunter Wiseman, Matthew Wiseman, Alexander Wiseman, Daniel Lovell, Auttom Lovell, Paiton Lovell, Kylie Lovell, Nakoma Powell, Jr.; Shyanne Powell, Nicholas Powell, Brendon Powell, Aubrey Powell, Raylynn Powell, Ryan Powell, Jr.; Lily Powell, Jacob Powell, 5 Grandchildren-Taylor Leffler, Tristan Leffler, Kiowa Leffler, Jacoby Leffler, Dianna Leffler; 5 brothers-Gene Powell, Kuwait, PeeWee Powell, Virginia, Jerry Powel,l Virginia, Silas Littrell, Milas Littrell, Boise, ID, 2 sisters-Helen Ward, East Moline, IL, Mary Lane, Moline, Il He was preceded in death by:His parents, 1 brother, Edgar Littrell. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 23rd at 3:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Apache with Rev. Christ Stinnett officiating. Burial with military honors will be held Monday, March 24th at 10:00 A.M. in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home |
