Lawton Oklahoma November 29, 2014 Anna Elizabeth [Weber] Newton Birth date: June 7, 1923 Death date: November 29, 2014 Anna Elizabeth Newton, Lawton, was born to John and Teresa [Klache] Weber on June 7, 1923 in Yugoslavia, the 2nd of 11 children. She died in Brunswick, Maine on November 29, 2014 at the age of 91. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5-8 pm at the Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:30 am in the Grierson Hill Chapel, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK. Anna married Samuel O. Newton in 1948 and shortly thereafter they moved to the United States. They lived the majority of their married life together in Lawton, OK. Anna was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, Teresia Mikulai and Katie Haag, shopping, dancing and laughing. She was also an active, longtime member of Grierson Hill Chapel, whose loving members provided her many hours of comfort and support. Anna moved to Maine in August of 2013 to live with her niece, Terry and her family, in Phippsburg, Maine. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel O. Newton; sister, Teresia Mikulai; nephew, Nick Mikulai. Survivors include her niece, Terry Miller and husband Jeff, and their children, Jessica of Maine, and John of Florida; 2 sisters, Sophia Lahner and family, of Austria, and Barbara Hartmier and family of Canada; nieces and nephew, Dusty Crow and family of Medicine Park, OK, Evelyn Parkinson and family of Norman, OK and Dorothy Winslow and family of Arizona, Rick Haag and family as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
