Mary [Brunton] Mason

Death date: December 31, 2013

Mary Mason was born October 23, 1936 in Bridport, England to Agnes [Matherson)]and Thomas Brunton. She died at a local nursing home with her family at her side on December 31, 2013 in Lawton at the age of 77.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel, officiated by Chaplin Charles Leggett. Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. Visitation reception will be 4-6 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the funeral home.

She grew up with her family in Cirencester, England and attended the local schools. In 1955, while living in Cirencester, she met Ivos Mason who was stationed at Royal Air Force Station, Fairford. Ivos was reassigned from England to Heidelberg, Germany in September 1956. They were married on December 28, 1957 in Cirencester and moved to Heidelberg in January, 1958. She became a military wife following her husband's many military assignments, including two additional tours in Germany and many state side assignments, including Fort Sill.

Her family chose to call Lawton home when Ivos retired from the Army.

She enjoyed knitting and making afghans for family and friends. She also loved her many pets.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Lynn Nelson; both parents, Thomas and Agnes Brunton; three brothers, Thomas Brunton, Robert Brunton and Eric Brunton; three sisters, Ann Lane, Rachier Deaver and Jean Andrews.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Ivos Mason, of the home; two sons, Mark A Mason, of Flower Mound, TX and Kevin D Mason, of Garland, TX; two grandchildren, Garrett Nelson, of San Francisco, CA and Trevor Nelson, of Lawton. Memorials:
In lieu of flowers the family wishes a donation be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, www.alzfdn.org/.

Visitation:
4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.

12:30 pm on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505
