Albert W. "Bill" Johnson

Services for Albert W. "Bill" Johnson, 79, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 10 at the First Baptist Church of Yukon.

He was born July 16, 1927 in Sardis, Oklahoma, the son of Wilburn Albert and Opal Faye [Baker] Johnson.

He left this earth to be with his Lord on June 6, 2010 at his home in Yukon.

He was Chief (CPO F-7) in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, the Korean Conflict era and Vietnam. He retired after 20 years of service.

Bill worked almost 20 years with Western Farmers Electric Co-Op in Anadarko. He later served 12 years for SOWERS (Servants on Wheels), traveling all over the United States as a servant of God helping others.

In 1998, he moved from Anadarko to Yukon. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0160 and First Baptist Church of Yukon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, Virgel Baker, half-sister, Lorraine Baker; sons, Ronald Lee Johnson and David Wayne Johnson; granddaughter, Jamie Dawn Roberts; and great-grandson, Grayson Wayne Lee.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nathalie Nelson Johnson [AHS Class of 1950], of the home; daughter, Sandra K. Yost and husband Ken of Oklahoma City; son, Albert W. "Billy" Johnson, Jr. of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Damon Matthew Womble of Dallas and Christopher David Womble of Oklahoma city; great-grandchildren, Zachary Womble, Nathan Womble, and Lucas Womble, all of Oklahoma City and James Womble and Kate Womble of Dallas; step-daughter, Laurie Roberts and husband Jeff of Edmond; grand-daughter, Jill Lee and husband Frank of Edmond; grandson, Justin Roberts of Broken Arrow; great-granddaughter, Taylor Lee of Edmond; step-daughter, Dianne Hodges and husband Carl of Yukon; grandson, Ryan Hodges of Mustang; step-daughter, Carolyn Cotton and husband Steve of Sand Springs, Ok; and his special companion, his beloved pet, Lucky.

Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bill's name to either Carter Hospice (3105 S. Meridian, Oklahoma City, OK 73119) or City Rescue Mission (800 W.
