Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, 11 May 2009 ~ Wednesday, 13 May 2009 Grady Jenkins, Jr Graveside services for Grady Dewey Jenkins, Jr., 86, will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK. Mr. Jenkins was born August 25, 1922 in Mangum, OK, the son of Grady Dewey and Lydia Florine [Jones] Jenkins. He passed away May 8, 2009 in Norman. Mr. Jenkins was proud of his military service, having served with the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Chickasha and was a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV. On July 16, 1990, Grady married Mary Hodnett. They lived many years in Mangum, and more recently in Verden and were members of the Verden First Baptist Church. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife Mary of Norman; sons Robert Jenkins of Granite Bay, CA, Charles Jenkins, and Lester Jenkins of Oakdale, CA; daughters Kathy Escabedo, Jutta Wall and Sonja Williams both of Modesto, CA; brother Paul Jenkins of Modesto, CA; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Glen Jenkins, and his daughter Phyllis.Arrangements are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service of Norman. |
