Lawton Oklahoma Thursday, January 30, 2014 Pank John "PJ" Greene Pank John "PJ" Greene was born September 24, 1924 in Panacea, Florida to Ella Mae (Robinson) and Andrew Greene. He died at the Lawton/Fort Sill VA Center on January 24, 2014 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 89. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel officiated by Darwin McHenry. Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at the funeral home. PJ grew up in Florida with his family until WW II started, he chose to join the army serving as a medic and serving in two theaters of combat; Germany, and Korea. He was assigned to Fort Sill when he was separated from the army due to a back injury. He went to work for the civil service becoming an ambulance driver at Reynolds Army Hospital for many years until his retirement due to his health. He loved to fish, travel and visit his favorite casinos. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball. He had two teams that he never missed watching, the Gators and the Seminoles, of Florida, and you never wanted to tell him there was a better team. He had many grandchildren and he loved everyone of them and always had something special for each one.br> He was preceded in death by both parents, Andrew and Ella Mae Greene; sister Nellie Mae Plumber. PJ is survived by his son, Johnny Greene, of Tacoma, WA; two daughters; Donna Brown and her husband LaFiesta, of Lawton, OK, Shirley Moore and her husband Christopher, of Dallas, TX; sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Greene and his wife Willie Mae, of Macomb, GA; three sisters; Mattie Mae Patterson and her husband Linton, of Macomb, GA, Mary Alice Burley and her husband Alfred, of Macomb, GA, Sandra Tukes and her husband Earl, of Tifton, GA; very special cousin, Dora Rosier of Sapchoppy, FL. He has many loving family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Visitation: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.
