Lawton, Oklahoma October 2, 2016 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept my faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness..." 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Tony Curry, 66, was born in Brewton, Alabama on November 21, 1949 to Fannie Mae Curry, along with two younger brothers, Robert and Rickey. Tony attended Southern Normal High School and graduated in 1970. As a young man, he excelled in playing basketball. That same year, he proposed to his high school sweetheart and married Vermell Crosby on December 31, 1970. Nineteen-seventy was a busy year for Tony because he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Tony served in the U.S. Army for 23 years. He retired as SSG Tony Curry in 1993. During his service, he served in Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
