Beverly Ann Collins

Birth date: July 23, 1951
Death date: May 8, 2015

Beverly Ann Collins, Lawton, was born July 23, 1951 in Lawton. She died on May 8, 2015 at the age of 63.

Beverly grew up in Lawton and attended the local schools. After graduating Lawton High School she attended Cameron University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, all while maintaining a 4.0 average and being on the President's Honor Roll.

She married Sammie Collins in Houston, TX on September 22, 1971.

She worked as a cook at several restaurants before enlisting in the US Army, where she served from 1978 until 1979 when she was medically retired.

Beverly loved fishing in her free time. She also loved cooking meals around the holidays and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to walk the dog and would stop to talk to anyone just to make them smile. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by Eugene Collins.

Survivors include her husband, Sammie, of the home; son, Karanga LaBow Oliver of San Diego, CA; daughter, Eugenia Ann Pittman; sister, Valencia Marie Norwood and husband Marvin of Valdosta, GA; brothers, Casimir Vital and wife Lyna of Corpus Christi, TX and Thoublia A. Vital of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren: Beverly "BA", Tiara, Kierra, Phillip, Octavia, and Natalee; nine great-grandchildren: Ayden (Neely), Taniyer, Zyius, Ziaon, Tori, Tiara, Octavia, Anita, and Yahzionah; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505

11:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Northside Southern Baptist Church 1715 NW Taylor Avenue Lawton Oklahoma 73507

Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Jake Dunn Road, Elgin OK
