December 24, 2012 James David Chappell After a lengthy, serious illness, James was called home to be with his higher power who he called God on December 24, 2012, one day before his 79th birthday. James was born on December 25, 1933 in Vivian, Louisiana to H. C. & Vera Chappell He lived most of his young life in Wilson, Oklahoma and graduated from Wilson High School in 1952. After graduating he went to work in the oil field working in different states. He lived most of his young life in Wilson, Oklahoma and graduated from Wilson High School in 1952. After graduating he went to work in the oil field working in different states. He later met the love of his life, Shirley Bull. They were married on August 18, 1954 and enjoyed 58 ½ wonderful years together James served in the Army in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was very proud to have served his country. James retired from NL Treating Chemicals as a Sales Representative. He the worked for Volt Energy Corporation. James and Shirley lived and raised their children in Moore, Oklahoma, later moving to Tuttle, Oklahoma, where their youngest daughter, Kristi graduated. The last 10 years of his life he lived with his wife in Chandler, Oklahoma. James was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Chandler and was a friend of Bill W. James was preceded in death by his parents, H. C. and Vera Chappell; and his only son, Stephen James Chappell. Hw ia aurvived by his loving wife, Shirley; daughters, Beverly Chappell and Kristi Bowen and her husband Daryl; 9 grandchildren, Lance and wife Amanda Corbett, Bethany Corbett, Patrick Corbett, Lindsay Rains, Hunter Rains, Caleb Bowen, Baylee Bowen, Lauren Chappell and Elizabeth Chappell; 1 great grandchild, Riley Raines; sister, Gloria Jo and her husband Bill Goddard alomng with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a very special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jason Crouch and Good Shepherd Hospice. A funeral will be helf at 10:00 a,m, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Lehman Funeral Home with interment following at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston. |
