Lawton, Oklahoma January 4, 2015 Betty Jean [Robinson] Bishop Birth date: January 18, 1935 Death date: January 4, 2015 Betty Jean Bishop was born on January 18, 1935 in Louisville, KY to Garland and Alberta E. Robinson. She died on January 4, 2015 in Lawton, OK at the age of 79. Mrs. Bishop passed on to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and re-united with her loving husband "Bishop", whom asked the Lord to bring him to the glory land first so that he could meet her there and continue to live with her in glory. She was raised and attended school in Louisville, KY. Mrs. Bishop married Curley Bishop on December 30, 1959 in Louisville. He was the most loving, caring, dedicated soul mate, and even though he was very sick himself, never complained once, and never left her side until God called him home to glory on September 22, 2011. Mrs. Bishop was such a very dedicated, loving, caring person, always helping anyone in need, even looking for anyone in need, or just waiting for a call to let her know of someone whom was in need. Mrs. Bishop was a Deaconess at Galilee Missionary Baptist and very dedicated to doing the Lord's work in and outside of church. Even though Mrs. Bishop never drove, she was always on the go, waiting on one of her sisters from the church to call and say, "hey Sister Bishop, do you want to "G", and she would be gone." As a beautiful Mother to her children, she always made each and every child feel as if they were the only child, all because she had so much love to give each and every one of them. Survivors left to cherish her memory include five sons, Curtis Bishop, Jerome Eugene Bishop, and Steve Bishop, all of Louisville, KY, Ricky Bishop of El Paso, TX, and Billie Helon of Lawton; six daughters, Theresa Bishop of Florida, Danita Bishop of Louisville, KY, Janeth Thomas and Floretta Stevens of Lawton, Carolyn Phillips of Killeen, TX, and Damita Bishop of Atlanta; a sister, Florence Johnson of Louisville, KY; 24 grandchildren over 30 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Bishop, sisters Dorothy Booker and Delores Davis, brother George Robinson Jr. and three grandsons, Jerome Bishop Jr, Jason Griffin, and Rocco Eugene Stevens. Please let your tears be tears of joy, because I fought the good fight, God saw me getting weak, and called me home to rest at my final resting place in glory. I will be supremely happy with Him forever and ever.
