Frank G. Zanbrano

1927 - 2018

Funeral service for Frank G. Zanbrano will be at 9:30 am Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop John Dunaway, Lawton Police Department Chaplain officiating. Burial with Military and Lawton Police Department Honors will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin.
Frank G. Zanbrano, 91, of Lawton passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center. He was born January 29, 1927 in Dewey, OK to Cayetano and Maria (Delgado) Sanbrano. He attended Dewey Public Schools and graduated from Dewey High School. He played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He was an all conference center in football. He was drafted into the US Army in 1944 and served during WW II and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1952. He went to work for the Lawton Police Department, where he retired after 27 years in 1978. He retired as Chief of Detectives. After his retirement he went to work for the Sheriff's Department for 5 years and then worked as an investigator for the District Attorney's Office for 12 years before finally retiring. Frank was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge (50 year pin), past President of the Fraternal Order of Police, past Commander of VFW Post #5263 in Lawton and the Oklahoma District Attorney's Association. He enjoyed Coaching fast pitch softball, calligraphy, photography, golf and fishing.
Survivors include his 2 children; Donna Berry and husband Bill of Lawton, Lou Ann Lucero of Lawton, 4 grandchildren; Tennyson Berry II, Amanda Michelle Berry, Kelly Duane Berry and Brandon Michael Isom and wife Brandi all of Lawton, 2 great grandchildren; Oakley Kade Isom, Hailey Rece Isom, a cousin Tony Vargas and wife Maggie of Dewey, OK, and a special friend Dorma Moortel of Lawton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; John and Johnny Sanbrano.
