George F. Stelzer, Jr.

May 10, 1925 - June 3, 2023

George F. Stelzer Jr, 98, passed away June 3, 2023, at 8:10pm in Greenbrier Nursing Home. He was born to George F. Stelzer Sr and Josephine Edna Jeschke on May 10, 1925. He attended school in Pasadena, TX. At age 16, in 1941, he enlisted in the USMC. He served in the Philippines during WWIl as a radio operator. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to Texas.
George married Mary Evelyn Dorris in 1947. To this marriage one son, Don, was born. In 1949 he went to work as a lineman for SW Bell/AT&T. He retired in 1974 in San Antonio, TX. While in San Antonio, he met Willa Faye Ebert. They were married in 1982 in Enid OK. They retired to Granbury FX. In 2006 they moved to Enid OK and were members of Garriott Road Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his wife Willa Faye in 2010.
George survived by his son Don (Molly) Stelzer of San Antonio TX and 3 stepchildren, Jerry Ebert of Monticello, Ark, Denise (Brent) Haught of Mangum OK and Don (Suzanne) Ebert of Irving TX. He also had 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 14, 2023, at Ft Sill National Cemetery, Lawton OK.
Memorials may be made to the veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
