Avis M. Sneed

1926 - 2020

Avis M. Sneed was born on September 7, 1926 at Oak Hill, OK and passed away August 23, 2020 at Oklahoma City, OK. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and lifelong Homemaker. She was a devote Christian and member of the Edmond, OK Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Among the passions in her life was raising two sons, growing flower and vegetable gardens. She spent countless hours doing crafts, sewing and decorating her home. She is preceded in death by her father , Joseph Frank Jackson. She was particularly proud of the fact that her father was a survivor of the Spanish American War, serving under Teddy Roosevelt and LT Gen Pershing. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her mother Lucinda Posey Jackson, brother Archie O Jackson, sister Sybil Morgan, her husband of 73 years Guy Sneed and youngest son Gary Sneed. She is survived by her son Michael Sneed and wife Gale, daughter-in-law Leanne Sneed. Five Grandchildren, Jonathon Sneed, Megan Griffin, Christan Sneed, Paul Sneed, and Morgan Brown, 6 Great Grandchildren and niece Patricia Lenoard.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery Elgin, OK.
