Stanley Perkins, Sr.

March 8, 1935 - August 8, 2023

Graveside services for Master Sgt. retired Stanley Perkins Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023 at Ft Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.
A visitation will be held at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Services at 6210 NW Cache Rd, Lawton from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Stanley Perkins Sr., retired Master Sgt. U.S Army passed away on Aug. 8, 2023. He was born on March 8, 1935, in Portsmouth, VA to Jonnie and Ruth Marie Perkins. Stanley graduated from Norfolk County High School and worked for the postal service before enlisting into the U.S Army. He was enlisted and served over 25 years in Field artillery. He performed two tours of combat in Vietnam and was awarded numerous medals, ribbons, decorations, and badges. Upon retiring from the military, he returned to work for the U.S Postal Services.
He was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie and Ruth Marie Perkins, two sons: Stanley Perkins Jr., and Marvin Perkins, two sisters: Rose Shephard, and Ellen Bryant, brother Maurice Perkins and grandson Marvin Perkins, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years Carolyn Perkins; sons: Robbie Perkins, and Carl Perkins (Christy); sister, Elise Lee of Portsmouth, VA. daughter-in-law, Angie Perkins of Chesapeake VA; grandchildren: Tameka, Rodawn, Stanley III, Christyn, and Carl II. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
