Nicholas Miller

November 3, 1937 ~ October 25, 2016

Nicholas Miller, Lawton, was born November 3, 1937 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to William and Helen Miller, and passed away on October 25, 2016 at the age of 79. He was the youngest of 7 children.
Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016 and from 3pm to 5pm Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 31, 2016 at Fort Sill National Cemetery at 11:00 AM under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Nick served 20 years in the US Army and retired as a CWO2 supporting the Pershing Missile system. While serving he earned the Army Commendation Medal, 3 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, two Driver and Mechanic Badges, and the German Army Marksmanship Award in Bronze. He was active in the DAV as a Post Commander of DAV Chapter 56 of Lawton/Fort Sill and active in the VFW. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Duncan. Nicholas was a big supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He is a retired distributor of Murray Cookies. Nicholas was a resident of the Lawton/Fort Sill VA Center and was on the Comanche County Veteran’s Administration Council at the Oklahoma Disabled Veteran’s Association (ODVA) Center. He was an active member of the German American Club. He was loved by everyone and liked everyone he met. He never met a stranger and was friends with everyone.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Irmgard; daughter Kathy Pinkerton of Duncan; sons Michael Miller of Duncan, Glenn Miller and wife Tracy from Virginia Beach VA; daughters Linda Strawderman from Charlotte NC, and Christina Blanton and her husband Eddie from Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Robert Woods, Glenn (G.A.) Miller, Jr., Savannah Miller, Nicholas Mansel, and Elizabeth Mansel.
Nicholas is preceded in death by 6 siblings and his son-in-law, Wayne Pinkerton.
