Janette Ann Letizia

August 10, 1958 - September 04, 2017

Janette Ann Letizia, Lawton, was born August 10, 1958 in Syracuse, New York to Robert and Mildred (Downing) Letizia. She passed away peacefully on September 4, 2017 at the age of 59. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00am under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Janette grew up in Syracuse, New York. She graduated from Fowler High School in Syracuse. She was very athletic in her youth, participating in gymnastics and roller-skating. She was the National Roller-skate Champion in speed skating. In 1977 Janette enlisted in the United States Army where she worked as a helicopter mechanic; she also served in Panama. After her honorable discharge from the Army Janette worked at Wal-Mart, worked as a landscaper, and worked as a heat and air technician. She loved spending time with her family; her grandchildren, nieces and nephews were a very important part of her life. Janette also loved butterflies. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Letizia; and a sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Letizia.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Letizia of Syracuse, New York; sister, Diana Martin and husband Lee of Lawton, OK; sister, Elia Whitney of Raleigh, North Carolina; brother, James Letizia of Winter Haven, Florida; brother, Frank Letizia of Syracuse, New York; daughter, Leann Aflleje of Carbonado, Washington; three grandchildren: Ciela, Bryan and Hailey; one great grandchild, Sophia Grace and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
