Carole Marie Lawton

April 23, 1936 - July 25, 2023

Carole Lawton age 87 of Tuttle, passed away on July 25, 2023. Carole Marie Davis was born on April 23, 1936 in Heber City, Utah to Cliff Davis and Marie Davis (Ballard). She attended Wasatch High School there graduating with the Wasp class of 1953. Carole married her high school sweetheart, David Lawton on Valentines Day of 1953. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity October 1965. David began work shortly after as an air traffic controller so they made their home wherever his work led them. Over the years his career took them all over the western united states and they enjoyed taking in the natural beauty of each new place. Carole and David loved being in the outdoors- camping, hiking, and skiing. Together, their family visited nearly every state in the country with stops at Civil War battle sites and famous landmarks along the way. Carole and David settled in Tuttle in 1987 and called it home ever since. Carole was a strong woman of faith and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cliff and Marie Davis. Her husband of 62 years David Lawton, and her son-in-law Michael Cravens.
Carole is survived by her sister Larriane Lindsay and husband Gary of Woods Cross, Utah. Her children, Douglas Lawton and wife Joyce of Midway, Utah, Keith Lawton and wife Cheryl of Heber City, Utah, Lynn Lawton of Enid, OK, Vickie Lawton of Charleston SC, Glen Lawton and wife Tia of Topeka, Kansas, Linda Martinez and husband Edgar of Tuttle, OK, and Laura Cravens of Tuttle, OK. She also leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am August 7, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mustang, OK with burial to follow at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK.
