Julian Marcus Huffmaster

Julian Marcus Huffmaster a resident of Lawton, Oklahoma, was born August 27, 1958, in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas to Marvin Leo and Veda Mae Huffmaster. Marcus passed away at the age of 58 on July 15, 2017 at Comanche Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma while under medical care.
Marcus was a graduate of Lawton High School where he was enrolled in the R.O.T.C. program and as a member of the Lawton High School Wrestling Team. In June of that same year, Marcus entered the United States Marine Corps Reserve and attended Marine Corps Boot Camp at M.C.R.D. San Diego, California.
After graduation from Basic Training, Marcus was assigned to the Marine Corps Artillery Detachment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Marine Battery, for training as a Cannon Crewmen. Upon completion of his training, he was assigned to Marine Corps Reserve Forces, 8th 175mm Gun Battery USMCR, Oklahoma City, OK.
In May of 1979, Marcus was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps Reserve Forces and enlisted in the active Marine Corps, assigned to Fox Battery, Second Battalion 11th Marines, 1ST Maine Division Camp Pendleton, California; where he served an additional three years in the United States Marine Corps, earning the respect and appreciation of his command. He was promoted to the grades of Corporal and Sergeant and entrusted with the position of Cannon Gun Chief for a 155mm howitzer.
On October 13, 1982, for his loyal and faithful service, Marcus was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
Marcus' awards from the United States Marine Corps are the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, A Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and various personal letters and awards.
At age of twenty four, Marcus went to work in the oil fields until he sustained a traumatic brain injury which left him incapacitated. Marcus has fought the good fight, the love of his family and with a strong will to live, he surpassed everyone’s expectations to live a full thirty-five years after his trauma. Marcus has been an inspiration to all those who know him and he will be sorely missed.
We celebrate Marcus' life, as his soul ascends to be with our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. His body is renewed, his youth restored and at peace.
Marcus is survived by his ten siblings, brother Marvin Lee Huffmaster and Pauline (born Malloch) Huffmaster, of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother Anthony John Huffmaster of Fort Smith Arkansas; brother Ashley Glenn Huffmaster, of Fort Smith Arkansas; brother David Jason Huffmaster and Becky (born Hale) Huffmaster, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother Daniel Jarvis Huffmaster and Cheryl Ann (born Lee) Huffmaster of Marlow, Oklahoma; sister Frances Lillian (born Huffmaster) and Danny Long of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother Michael Wayne Huffmaster of Pennsylvania; brother Timothy Allen Huffmaster of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister Ramona Diane (born Huffmaster) and Bo Chambers of Truman, Arkansas; and his lifelong friend and brother- in-arms, Loyal Curtis Lee, of Duncan, Oklahoma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Marcus was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dolly (born Kent) Huffmaster, and John Claude Huffmaster; Florence Lillian (born Eberman) Parker and William G. Parker; his mother and father, Marvin Leo Huffmaster and Veda Mae (born Parker) Huffmaster; his older sister Ruth Ann (born Huffmaster) Jones and Harold Dean Jones; his nephews, Danny Long, Marcus Joseph Huffmaster, Karl William Huffmaster.
