Jack Holiday
January 13, 1925 ~ April 16, 2011
Major Jack R. Holiday, Ret., 86, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born January 13, 1925 in Oklahoma City to Cecil and Tina (Coleman) Holiday. Jack was united in marriage on August 18, 1979 in Juarez, Mexico to Annetta Anderson.
Jack graduated from Central High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in the European Theater during WWII. H attended Officer's training school in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army until April, 1969. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM #38 Norman, where he received a 50 year membership pin. He was a member of the India Shrine Temple and former Boomer Patrol Captain. He was a former member of Eastern Star and a past Royal Patron of Amaranth. He was a lifetime member of VFW-RTOA. Jack volunteered at Travelers' Aid at Will Rogers World Airport and ran the Pastor's Pantry at Goodrich United Methodist Church. Most importantly, everyone who knew him loved him.
Jack is survived by his wife, Annetta of the home; three daughters, Cecily Holiday and husband David Haidak of Potomac, MD, Kimberely Farrell of Norman and Virginia Wiggins of Norman; two sons, Glen Holiday of Norman and Dale Holiday of Wynette, OK; one sister, Mary Shamphan of Bakersfield, CA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital Transportation Fund, Shrine Center, 3601 NW 36th St., OKC, OK 73112.
