Hosie Hilliard

Hosie Hilliard Jr., age 79, of Lawton passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at his residence.
Hosie was born on July 3, 1941 in Mobile, Alabama to Hosie Hilliard Sr. and Annette Taylor. Hosie served his country for twenty-eight years in the U.S. Army before retiring as a Master Sergeant. He served during the Korean War and received several awards, medals and commendations including two meritorious service medals. He was also the brigade communication chief and served as a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. In addition to his military service, he also worked for the Lawton Public Schools as a bus driver for over twenty years. Hosie married his Huigim Lee and from that union one child was born, Andre D. Howard. Hosie served at his home church, Harmony Christian. In his free time, he loved to watch sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and the NCAA tournaments, but most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
Preceded in death by his mother, Anette Taylor; one brother Arnold Taylor and one sister Net Taylor, Hosie is survived by his wife, Huigim Hilliard; one son, Andre D. Howard; two brothers, Epsilon Taylor and William Taylor; one daughter-in-law, Melissa Howard; two granddaughters, Breonne Roberts and Tanisha Dave; three great-granddaughters, Jazzlyn White, Yonteria Roberts and Nevaehsky Dave; one aunt, Joyce Ruchin; one uncle, Don Rushin; one niece, Shawate Taylor and nephew Arnold Jr. Taylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
