Dennis Eugene Hill

June 18, 1944 - March 04, 2019

SFC Hill was born on June 18, 1944 in Sioux City, IA to Arthur and Clara Hill.
On October 26, 1962 he enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to Ft. Richardson, AK. He was sent to the Republic of Vietnam in 1969. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with six Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, Four Overseas Service Bars, the Army Commendation Medal, the Bronze Star Medal-2, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Good Conduct Medal-6, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon-1, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon-1, the Staff Service Medal, and the Expert- Rifle M-16- Meritorious Medal. SFC Hill was a brave and loyal soldier.
He married Ruby Lee Body in Burkburnett, TX on November 16, 1973.
He enjoyed carpentry work and didn’t mind helping others. Until his illness, Dennis remained a loyal member of multiple organizations, to include: Post Surgeon at VFW Post 1193, he was a 32nd Degree Master Mason at Rising Star #18, and Eastern Star, and Shrine with Menes Temple #32.
He completed his studies at Cameron University in 1982 and completed Mason Carpentry at Great Plains Vo-Tech from 1986-1989.

SFC Dennis Eugene Hill, 74, died peacefully at The Veterans Center on March 4, 2019. A Vietnam Veteran, and a life-long resident of Lawton, Ok.
He is preceded in death by his mother Clara Hill; father, Arthur Hill and his sister, Connie Roupe.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee Hill; his daughters, Michelle Harmon and Debra McBride; his sons, Michael Hill, Kevin Hill and step son Bobby Finley; brother, Stanley "Sonny" Hill; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his special friend James Stephens. Dennis will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
