Glena Harp

December 01, 1931 - November 28, 2015

Glena Marie Harp was born December 1, 1931 in Union City, Tennessee to Herrietta Marie Slayton and Hershell Slayton.
Glena passed away on November 28, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Glena was raised in Union City, TN, as a young lady she accepted God into her life and became a member of Brown Chapel A. M. E. Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher and in the church choir. Glena married Herman Harp Sr. on June 7, 1953 from this union they had four sons. Glena was a homemaker while touring and supporting her husband in his Army career. In 1968 they made Lawton Oklahoma their home. In 1980 Glena and her family became members of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She was on the kitchen committee, Mission Society and a faithful choir member for several years.
Glena was a loving and respected wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and aunt. She was very caring and warm hearted person that would always open her home if you needed a good meal. Glena was also a very spunky lady that believed in honesty and not sugar coating her thoughts. She was an outgoing person that enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.
In 2008 Glena moved to Okmuglee Oklahoma after her husband's death. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Herman Harp Sr. 3 sons Roderick E. Harp, Dwight W. Harp and Byron G. Harp.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son Herman Harp Jr. Okmuglee OK, daughter-in-law Yvondee Harp Chinle ,Arizona, grandchildren Tinesha M. Harp-Salam (Ahmad T. Salam) Puyallup WA, Maurice Tunley (Carrie Tunley) Morris Ok, (Tony) Roderick E. Harp Jr. (Chandis Harp), Rodney D. Harp, Warren Tunley, Okmuglee Ok, Herman E. Harp, Roxanne K. Harp, Tacoma WA Cheyenne M. Harp, Malcolm C. Harp, Lancaster TX, Anita Thompson Virginia, Charmaine Crutcher Spokane WA, Christina Almore Dallas, TX. Great grandchildren Tierra Harp, Roderick E. Harp III, Makalay Tunley, Janessa Harp, D'Mari Harp, Kenya Harp, Rhania Harp, Rashae Harp, Naveah Harp, Rodney Harp Jr., Josiah Harp, Zaden Harp and Zy' Nyiah Harp, Kira Lee and Jayden Lee. And a host of relatives and friends.
